The United Arab Emirates has unexpectedly suspended the issuance of visas to Jordanians following repeated complaints by citizens over the past few days, Roya news agency reported today.
Travel and tourism agencies have informed customers that they are currently unable to process visa applications for the UAE.
A source familiar with the matter told Roya that the UAE visa suspension came without an official statement.
According to UAE officials, the source was attributed to what they called a “system malfunction”.
In their communication with customers, the travel agencies said: “We regret to inform you that all visa applications for the UAE from Jordanian citizens are currently being rejected. We await further clarification from the UAE immigration authorities on this matter.
As a result, these agencies have temporarily stopped processing visa applications for Jordanian citizens until more information is available and the situation is resolved.
