Al Dhaid Date Festival 2024 Opens in Sharjah

Al Dhaid: The 2024 edition of Al Dhaid Date Festival, the UAE’s premier agricultural and heritage event, will begin on Thursday at Expo Al Tait and run until October 6.

Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the event is attended by date producers, retailers, farmers and palm owners in the UAE, as well as government and private companies involved in date cultivation.

SCCI President Abdullah Sultan Al Owais inaugurated the function along with other officials. Participants toured the pavilions, exploring various date products and heritage-inspired items.

Al Owais highlighted the role of the festival in advancing the agricultural sector and supporting food self-sufficiency by promoting collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The event includes competitions for local farmers, traditional performances and date auctions. The Date Market is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00, showcasing premium varieties from across the UAE.
