UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Arab Cooperation at 114th AESC Session
CAIRO:- Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Juma Mohammed Al Kait, has reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening Arab cooperation and moving towards further economic progress.
He also emphasized the country’s commitment to promoting cooperative efforts among Arab countries to ensure sustainable economic development across the region.
He made these remarks at the opening of the 114th regular session of the Arab Economic and Social Council (AESC) at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat.
Al Kait noted that the factors under consideration will help chart a course for more effective Arab cooperation, utilizing the region’s rich resources and potential.
The two-day meeting will focus on key areas, including economic and social files, to be submitted to the 2025 Arab League summit in Baghdad.
The meeting will also discuss the challenges and opportunities of increasing trade and investment between the Arab Free Trade Area and the Arab Customs Union and Arab countries. Also, the committee will review proposals to strengthen cooperation in areas such as tourism, archeology and space exploration.
Al Kait emphasized the importance of these talks to adjust the economic strategies of the member states and to make the Arab countries efficient economic players on the world stage. He called for continued efforts to build on these initiatives, highlighting the need for innovative approaches in line with the broader goals of the Arab League.
