UAE President and Turkish FM Discuss Regional Stability and Bilateral Cooperation
Abu Dhabi, Dec 26: On Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to address regional challenges and enhancing bilateral relations. According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), which cited Xinhua news agency, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced confidence in Turkey’s sustained success and growth.
They highlighted the expanding cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, investment and energy.
They reaffirmed their determination to prevent the escalation of conflicts that threaten regional security, and underlined the importance of cooperation in resolving regional issues and maintaining regional stability.
The two sides reviewed developments in the Middle East and stressed the need to intensify efforts to prevent the escalation of regional conflicts that threaten security and stability, and to pursue a clear path to peace that ensures stability and security for all.
Both stressed their firm support for Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the peaceful, stable, and forward-thinking goals of the Syrian people.
They also agreed that coordinated international action is needed to support Syria’s reconstruction and ensure its long-term stability.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.
