The UAE leader’s warm words came as tens of thousands of Christians flocked to churches across the emirate to participate in traditional Christmas services.

“A blessed Christmas to all celebrating in the UAE and around the world,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

“May the spirit of the season bring harmony, prosperity and goodwill to you and your loved ones.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, shared similar sentiments during the religious festival.

“Our best wishes to all those celebrating the Christmas holiday… May the world always be peaceful and harmonious, and may everyone always enjoy goodness and prosperity,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, extended his greetings to the millions of people celebrating Christmas around the world.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a message sent on X, wished the world “a Merry Christmas”, expressing his wish that “the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ show the way to peace and prosperity for all”.

US President Joe Biden – marking his final weeks in office – simply said “Merry Christmas to all” in a social media post, alongside a photo of himself, joined by US First Lady Jill Biden, in front of a lit Christmas tree.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer paid tribute to those working on Christmas Day in his festive message.

“From my family to yours, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. I send a special thank you to all those working over the Christmas period,” he said.
