UAE President Sends Letter to Japan’s Prime Minister on Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Tokyo [Japan], April 14 – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a letter to Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, focusing on enhancing the longstanding partnership between the two nations. The letter, which was delivered by Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE’s Special Envoy to Japan and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, highlights strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that was formed in 2022.
UAE Ambassador to Japan Shihab Al Faheem and UAE Minister of State Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi were also present for the meeting between Al Jaber and Prime Minister Ishiba, which was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo. Al Jaber welcomed the Prime Minister on behalf of President Sheikh Mohammed at the meeting, wishing him continued progress and prosperity in the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai and Japan.
Prime Minister Ishiba exchanged greetings and expressed his hope for the continued growth of the UAE. The talks focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, technology and space, in order to achieve the two countries’ sustainable development goals.
Al Jaber highlighted the long-standing friendship between the UAE and Japan, which dates back to the UAE’s participation in Expo 1970 in Osaka, even before the country’s founding, and underlined the UAE’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation and strategic partnership with Japan.
