Mediation Efforts Lead to Swap of 350 War Captives
Abu Dhabi [UAE], March 20: The release of 175 prisoners from both sides was made possible by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has successfully brokered another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. With this most recent exchange, the total number of significant prisoners exchanged through the UAE’s mediation efforts now stands at 3,233.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) acknowledged the involvement of Russia and Ukraine in the mediation process. They acknowledge the UAE’s impartial diplomatic role in reducing tensions and promoting communication between warring countries, as evidenced by their willingness to participate.
The UAE has successfully mediated thirteen times now, demonstrating its close diplomatic ties with both nations. The UAE is still dedicated to encouraging peaceful conflict settlement and lowering the war’s humanitarian cost, especially with regard to displaced people and POWs.
The UAE underlines its commitment to international peace initiatives and humanitarian diplomacy by extending its support for communication and mediation.
