Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has confirmed its role in successfully mediating a high-level prisoner swap between the United States and Russia, marking another instance of the nation’s growing diplomatic influence on the global stage.
Representatives from both countries were present at the transfer, which took place in Abu Dhabi and involved one American and one Russian individual. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked Moscow and Washington for entrusting the Emirates with this delicate operation and for selecting Abu Dhabi as the location.
The ministry underlined that the UAE is committed to promoting constructive diplomacy and peaceful engagement. It continued that the exchange is a step in the right direction to reduce geopolitical tensions and promote communication between countries with strained relations.
