UAE Launces 180-Day Entry Permit for Blue Residency Applicants
New 180-Day Visa Eases Blue Residency Process for Environmental Contributors

UAE Launches 180-Day Entry Visa to Support Blue Residency Applicants Committed to Environmental Sustainability
A 180-day multiple-entry visa has been made available by the United Arab Emirates only for foreign candidates seeking the Blue Residency visa. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has unveiled a new project that aims to promote individuals who have made significant contributions to environmental sustainability while streamlining the application procedure.
During the World Government Summit in February 2025, the 10-year Blue Residency visa program was formally introduced. It is awarded to people who have demonstrated a commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation. Contributors to climatic and ecological projects, both domestically and abroad, are included in this.
Those eligible for the Blue Residency include supporters of environmental protection efforts, members of global environmental organisations and eco-focused companies, activists and volunteers from NGOs engaged in environmental causes, winners of international environmental awards, and researchers and innovators driving sustainable development.
To apply, people need to submit a current passport-sized photo with a white background, proof of accomplishments and contributions in the environmental field, and a passport that is valid for at least six months.
Through the ICP website or mobile application (UAEICP), applicants can finish the full procedure by entering their personal and professional information, uploading the appropriate files, paying the required costs, and submitting their application.
In just seven minutes, the ICP promises to be an easy-to-use experience. Visas are normally approved in one working day if all submitted paperwork is in order.
The 180-day visa not only provides flexibility for Blue Residency applicants to finalise procedures within the UAE but also reinforces the country’s growing role as a global centre for environmental leadership. This new visa complements other long-term residency schemes like the Golden and Green Visas, as the UAE continues to attract forward-thinking individuals and drive innovation in sustainability and climate action.
