Expo 2025 Osaka to Draw Inspiration from Dubai’s Successful World Expo Experience

UAE’s Expo 2020 Dubai Sets the Stage for Expo 2025 Osaka

Tokyo [Japan], February 10: The Secretary-General of Expo 2025 Osaka, Hiroyuki Ishige, stated that Expo 2020 Dubai will be crucial to the success of Expo 2020 Osaka. With its world-renowned experience and superb organisation, Expo 2020 Dubai will be crucial to the success of Expo 2020 Osaka.

“The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will be one of the unique pavilions that reflects the country’s progress at international exhibitions and its global recognition,” Ishige told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) in Japan.

With the theme “Shaping a Future Society for Our Lives”, Expo 2025 Osaka will be held on the man-made island of Yumeshima from April 13 to October 13.

Ishige highlighted important takeaways from Dubai’s experience on a number of levels and commended Expo 2020 Dubai’s outstanding organisation. He expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, which will host Expo 2030, and the United Arab Emirates, which hosted Expo 2020, for their involvement in Expo 2025 Osaka.

According to him, the Grand Ring, the largest wooden structure in the world, will encircle the pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka, spanning two kilometres. Its roof will serve as a walkway and provide sweeping views of the bay and city of Osaka.

More than 150 national and special days will be held during the event, enabling guests to travel the world without a passport and learn about the histories of participating nations.

Ishige pointed out that nine international organisations and 158 nations and regions had confirmed their attendance at the Expo thus far. According to him, more than 50,000 volunteers—mostly young people—had signed up to assist with event planning, and building was moving along at a steady pace.

He highlighted that the growing interest of the Arab region was reflected in the fact that seven Arab countries now participated in Expo 2025 Osaka, which was held in Japan in 1970.

Ishige cited Expo 2020 Dubai, which was attended by 81 world leaders and French President Emmanuel Macron, as an example of how nations may improve their economic diplomacy through world expos.
