UAE FM Urges Lasting Ceasefire in Gaza During Talks with Israeli Counterpart

Dubai: UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, the Emirates News Agency reported.

The latest regional developments, especially the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, were discussed at the conference, according to WAM.

The goal of the conversation was to bring about a long-lasting ceasefire in the area, encompassing both regional and global initiatives.

To establish a lasting ceasefire and stop the region’s disputes from getting worse, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the necessity of coordinated measures. According to him, the top priorities are to preserve civilian lives, put an end to tensions and violence, and deliver immediate humanitarian help.

According to the foreign minister, international action is required to put a stop to extremism, tension, and the rising violence in the Middle East, which is characterized by unparalleled tension and instability.

In order to achieve a prisoner exchange deal that would result in a lasting ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the secure and long-term provision of sufficient humanitarian aid to Gaza’s civilian population, he reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the mediation efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the US.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the UAE’s decades-long solidarity with the Palestinians and underlined the country’s commitment to assisting the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.
