UAE Eid Al Fitr 2025: Moon Sighting to Determine 4 or 5-Day Holiday

The UAE’s moon sighting committee will observe the crescent moon on Saturday, March 29, to determine the start of Eid Al Fitr. If the crescent is sighted that evening, Eid holidays will be observed from March 30 (Sunday) to April 1 (Tuesday), granting residents a four-day break from Saturday to Tuesday.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization has stated that the UAE government has formally announced Eid Al Fitr vacations for the private sector, which will run from March 30 to April 1. This will provide paid leave for all workers in all industries.

If the moon is not sighted, Ramadan will last for 30 days. In that case, Eid al-Fitr will begin on Monday, March 31, and the holiday will last until Wednesday, April 2. Under the plan, UAE residents will get five days off from Saturday to Wednesday, including weekends.

Ramadan is expected to last for 30 days, which means that there will be five more days off, according to reports. The holiday system ensures equal leave benefits for both private and public sector employees.
