UAE Deputy PM Welcomes BAPS Hindu Mandir Head, Strengthens Message of Peace and Coexistence


Abu Dhabi, UAE – April 16:
In a powerful gesture of unity and interfaith respect, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, welcomed Swami Brahmaviharidas, the spiritual leader of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, for a special meeting on Monday.

According to a statement issued by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the dialogue focused on strengthening the universal principles of peace, harmony and tolerance. The two leaders underlined that the Emirati society, where more than 200 nationalities enjoy living together in security and prosperity, is firmly based on the concept of tolerance.

The meeting served as a reminder of the UAE’s long-standing goal of being a world leader in mutual tolerance, cultural understanding and peaceful coexistence. The UAE hopes to establish its position as a hospitable, progressive nation with a strong foundation in diversity and communication over the next fifty years.

Throughout the discussion, Swami Brahmavihari Das expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his steadfast assistance in fulfilling the Mandir’s goal. In addition, he presented a unique “crystal gift of gratitude” as a token of gratitude for the unwavering support of the UAE throughout the temple’s design and construction process.

Additionally, in order to enhance the organization’s message of service and oneness, Swami Brahmaviharidas outlined the BAPS’s future plan, which includes the opening of additional international centers worldwide.

Joining him were Swami Aksharatitdas, Shri Ashok Kotecha, and Pranav Desai, who represented the broader BAPS community. The Abu Dhabi Mandir, which reflects the UAE’s strong dedication to ideals of tolerance and inclusiveness, has already become a global symbol of togetherness and cultural harmony, the Sanstha emphasized.

This important gathering marks a turning point in the UAE’s development as a center for interfaith understanding and peaceful world living and confirms the close and respectful ties between the UAE and the Hindu community.
