UAE Condemns Israeli Threats to Al-Aqsa, Attacks on Christians

UAE calls on global community to safeguard holy sites and support two-state solution amid East Jerusalem tensions

UAE Strongly Condemns Israeli Provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Assaults on Christians in Jerusalem

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Israel’s recent actions and rhetoric targeting religious holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem. In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country criticized calls by Israeli extremists to demolish the Al-Aqsa Mosque and condemned attacks on Christian worshippers during Holy Saturday celebrations.

The UAE emphasized the need to provide full security to Islamic and Christian holy sites and demanded an immediate end to all provocative violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also called for Jordan’s custodianship of the holy sites in Jerusalem to be respected, as recognized by international law and long-standing historical agreements. Maintaining the authority of the Jerusalem Endowment Administration, which oversees the mosque’s operations, is part of this.
The UAE denounced the limitations imposed on Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem over Easter week, particularly the physical attacks by Israeli police and the blocking of entry to churches, in addition to its position on Al-Aqsa.
The ministry issued a warning that such capricious and violent acts would escalate regional tensions and instability.

The UAE also expressed alarm over the circulation of a provocative AI-generated video on extremist Hebrew platforms, depicting the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the construction of a so-called “Third Temple” in its place. The video also emphasizes the growing challenges to religious harmony and provocation in the region.

The UAE reiterated its long-standing commitment to peace and called on the international community to step up diplomatic efforts to bring back a two-state solution-based political process. The goal, it said, must be the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, in line with international resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

This latest statement from the UAE reflects its firm commitment to defending religious sanctities, promoting peace, and countering acts that risk escalating violence and destabilizing the region.
