Sharjah Charity International Sends 200 Low-Income Residents for Umrah Pilgrimage
Sharjah Charity International (SCI) sent at least 200 low-income people to perform Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, November 13.
SCI covers all expenses for the 10-day trip, including travel, accommodation, meals, visa processing and transportation.
In addition, it also granted personal expense allowances to each pilgrim to facilitate their personal needs throughout the Umrah pilgrimage period.
SCI posted a video on Instagram of pilgrims leaving Sharjah on buses for Madinah and Makkah.
This is part of their ‘Tayseer Umrah’ scheme aimed at facilitating the pilgrimage for workers from various government and service organizations across the country.
Mohammed Bin Nasser, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at SCI, emphasized in a statement the campaign’s goal of helping those with low incomes by giving them the chance to take part in religious ceremonies.
Approximately 5,000 pilgrims have benefited from this effort throughout the past five years.
