Dubai, Nov 12: One person was killed and another is missing after a training aircraft crashed in mid-air over the emirate of Fujairah on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA) said. .
The incident occurred when the aircraft, carrying an instructor pilot and a foreign training pilot, lost radar contact about 20 minutes after takeoff, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to the GCAA, the body of the trainee pilot was recovered on the Fujairah beach while search and rescue teams continued to search for the wreckage.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, the GCAA said.
