Shining Mangalore Claims Victory in Kuwait Fahaheel Saturday League Season 4

Fahaheel Cricket Clubs organized the Kuwait Fahaheel Saturday League Season 4, a league-cum-knockout cricket competition that started on July 13 and ended on November 2 with an entertaining climax. Some of the top teams in the area engaged in fierce competition during the event, which culminated with “Shining Mangalore” winning the title.

In the first semi-final, Shining Mangalore faced Fahaheel Strikers. After Fahaheel Strikers won the toss and chose to field, Shining Mangalore amassed 97 runs before being bowled out in the 16 overs that were permitted. This total was matched by the Fahaheel Strikers, who ended their innings at 97/9 in a thrilling Super Over.
Shining Mangalore secured a spot in the finals by winning the Super Over. Chasing Bouncer defeated Kerala Legends in the second semi-final, securing a deciding final encounter with Shining Mangalore.

The final, held on November 2, saw Shining Mangalore’s captain, Mohammad Sharif, win the toss and opt to field. Chasing Bouncer, batting first, posted a total of 129 runs in 16 overs, with standout bowling performances by Shining Mangalore’s Rana, who took 4 wickets for just 19 runs in his 3 overs, and Ravi Raj Kotian, who claimed 2 wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs. Shining Mangalore confidently chased down the target, scoring 130/3 in just 12.2 overs, securing the championship with a 7-wicket victory.

Virender Sharma, who scored 43 runs off 30 balls (with 4 fours and 3 sixes) and Rifaz Malik, who scored 53 runs off 26 balls (hitting 3 fours and 6 sixes), were important members of Shining Mangalore. Rana was named ‘Man of the Match’ in the final when he played a crucial role with a quick 24 runs off 10 balls, including three strong sixes. Furthermore, Nasif Ullal was named the ‘Best Bowler,’ while Rifaz Malik was named the ‘Best Batsman’ for his exceptional play during the competition.

In Kuwait’s cricket world, Shining Mangalore has built a strong reputation by winning multiple titles and becoming as a dominant force under the direction of Mohammad Sharif, a well-known young entrepreneur and the owner of the Amal Mustakbal mobile shop. During the award event, Mohammed Nooruddin Ujire, owner of Spark Kuwait Generators Maintenance Company, and Ibrahim Kannur from Arafa Supermarket presented the trophies and prizes. The event’s successful program, which also featured team coach Nasir Kuttar, assistant coach Naveen D’Souza, and mentor Badruddin Muneer, was concluded by team manager Thameem Moosa Ullal as the observer commentator.

With this win, Shining Mangalore not only took home the championship trophy but also solidified their legacy in the local sports community, celebrated by fans and supporters in Kuwait.
