Dubai Launches ‘Social Agenda 33’ for Enhanced Living Standards and Family Unity

A Decade-Long Vision by Sheikh Mohammed for Transformative Progress

In a significant announcement, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has introduced the Dubai Social Agenda 33. The initiative, spanning the decade until 2033, focuses on the overarching theme of ‘Family: The Foundation of Our Nation.’

Traditionally unveiling promising national programs on January 4 each year, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the pivotal role of family in the new agenda, allocating a substantial budget of Dh208 billion to address various facets of Emirati lives. The agenda aims to enhance housing, quality of life, identity, values, social cohesion, healthcare, and equip the new generation with essential skills.

The key objectives include doubling the number of Emirati families within a decade, providing world-class residential neighborhoods, and safeguarding the younger generation against negative influences. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of protecting, empowering, and supporting families, emphasizing that the nation’s core is made up of its people and families.

The Dubai Social Agenda 33 aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and emphasizes sustainable social development. The focus extends to healthcare, housing, education, culture, sports, and community services. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, stressed the priority of enhancing citizen well-being and family stability, reflecting Sheikh Mohammed’s vision of placing UAE citizens at the forefront.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, highlighted the complementary nature of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Economic Agenda, both reflecting Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to sustainable development and investing in people. The Dh208 billion budget for the agenda is expected to contribute significantly to social work and capacity building.

Five main purposes outlined in the Dubai Social Agenda 33 include fostering happy and cohesive families, building an efficient healthcare system, creating an advanced education system, establishing an active social system, and developing a city offering the best living experience.

Under the pillars of healthcare and community development, the Dubai Social Agenda 33 allocates significant funds to various sectors, aiming to improve quality of life and social well-being. The ambitious objectives for the next decade include Dubai becoming one of the world’s top three cities in terms of standard of living, achieving a healthy life expectancy ranking among the top ten globally, and positioning Dubai’s education quality among the world’s top 10 cities.

The agenda aims to triple the number of Emiratis working in the private sector, provide land plots and loans for new Emirati families, and double the number of new Emirati families in Dubai by 2033. With a holistic approach, the Dubai Social Agenda 33 underscores Sheikh Mohammed’s vision for a prosperous and harmonious future for Dubai and its residents.
