UAE’s Mohammed Mardi Wins Arab Fight Night Muay Thai Championship
Muhammad Mardi made his name in Muay Thai history by winning the Arab Welterweight Championship at the inaugural Arab Fight Night Muay Thai Professional Championship at Abu Dhabi’s famous Space 42 Arena. Three-time world champion Itihazam Marty described his victory as “virtually immortal”, expressing immense pride in representing the deal.
A major event in Muay Thai, the championship brought together 28 elite fighters from 14 Arab countries to compete in a series of 15 exciting bouts. Mardi won the title by decisive unanimous decision, losing to Algeria Lyes Ouari of in the finals. Hamza Rashid of Morocco’s challenging semi-final was marked by his dedication and engagement on the way to an underground victory.

Reflecting on his remarkable performance, Mardi praised Auri’s defensive ability and hailed the win. The championship was not only Mardi’s personal milestone, but also a pivotal moment for Muay Thai, reflected in the high-profile rise from the industry.
Notable performances by fighters among others were presented at the ceremony. Ahmad Alshammar, Rafi Ramzi and Ibrahim Bilal all scored notable victories in the divisions, further signaling the rising power of Muay Thai.
The Champyanship established a new standard for Muay Thai in the Arab world and was a celebration of sportsmanship of extraordinary skill. Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, president of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations, hailed Ivan’s success and its influence on the future of the sport. Al Neyadi opined that the event will showcase the talents of the fighters and establish Abu Dhabi as the premier center of Muay Tahai on the world stage.
