His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, attended a ceremonial luncheon in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, hosted by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President and Chairman of the Camel Racing Federation.

The banquet celebrated the region’s growing significance in camel racing and its continuing cultural heritage by bringing together prominent camel owners and individuals from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Warmly interacting with guests throughout the event, Sheikh Mansour talked about the sport’s ongoing contribution to maintaining national identity as well as its importance in the UAE’s larger cultural scene.

The opening of one of the most prominent events on the regional camel racing calendar, the “Al Wathba Final 2025,” was a big highlight of the day. The festival is notable for its size as well as the quality of its promotion of classic sports, which it constantly provides.

As part of the event, Sheikh Mansour toured the newly inaugurated 8-kilometre camel racing track, constructed in just 60 days under his direct supervision. He expressed high praise for the track’s advanced infrastructure, calling it a major achievement that signals new possibilities for the future of camel racing. The project marks an advancement in sports facilities, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to developing and modernizing its traditional sports.

The festive event was enriched with vibrant cultural elements, including live traditional music and folk performances, which added to the spirited atmosphere and demonstrated national pride.. The heritage displays paid tribute to the UAE’s longstanding cultural values, while also honouring the leadership’s dedication to preserving and promoting its roots.
