Embracing the Spirit of Ramadan: Emirates Airlines’ Thoughtful Offerings
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Emirates Airlines, based in Dubai, is set to elevate the travel experience for fasting passengers with a range of special initiatives. Commencing on March 11, select flights within the UAE will witness the distribution of Ramadan meal boxes, carefully curated to provide a blend of light bites, sandwiches, and sweets. These culinary delights not only cater to passengers’ nutritional needs but also pay homage to the rich Emirati heritage of the Al Sadu weavers.
First and Business Class Indulgence: Passengers in the First and Business Class lounges are in for a culinary treat that mirrors the essence of Ramadan. Arabic mezze, lentil soup, mixed grill, chicken kabsa, and a delightful array of desserts await, including traditional Arabic sweets like tahina, baklawa, and an assortment of ice cream flavors. Emirates lounges extend beyond mere gastronomic pleasures, offering dedicated prayer rooms and ablution facilities to create a serene worship environment.
Captivating Captain’s Announcements: Emirates takes a unique approach to help passengers observe iftar at the correct time. Using a sophisticated tool that factors in the aircraft’s longitude, latitude, and altitude, imsak and iftar timings are calculated based on sunrise and sunset. The captain makes a special announcement as the sun sets, fostering a communal connection among passengers during this sacred month.
Special Attention to Umrah Travelers: Recognizing the significance of Umrah during Ramadan, Emirates Airlines extends special Ramadan boxes to flights catering to Umrah groups bound for Jeddah and Madinah. Additionally, passengers on these flights have the privilege of checking in one bottle of the Islamic holy water, ‘ZAMZAM,’ containing up to 5 liters per person at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and various airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Cultural Enrichment with Emirates ICE: The inflight entertainment system, ICE, becomes a cultural portal during Ramadan, offering a dedicated selection of religious content. Passengers can immerse themselves in Arabic and Urdu programs such as Ramzan Mah e Rehmat, Niyamat-E-Ramzan, Mahe Ramzan, and Ramzan Mehfil-E-Zikr. The entertainment lineup extends to popular series, dramas, AB Talks, Darb el Zalag, and Turkish dubbed series, providing a diverse range of options for passengers to enjoy during their travels.
Emirates Airlines’ commitment to enhancing the Ramadan experience extends beyond culinary offerings, embracing cultural enrichment and thoughtful services. As passengers embark on their journeys during this special and sacred time, Emirates aims to foster a connection that goes beyond travel, embodying the spirit of Ramadan.
