Mudassar Aziz Calls UAE Cuts of Fardeen Khan Scenes in ‘Khel Khel Mein’ Heartbreaking
Director Mudassar Aziz, Fardeen Khan Disappointed by UAE Cuts; Film Thrives Globally

UAE Censors Key Scenes of Fardeen Khan’s Role in ‘Khel Khel Mein’
Khel Khel Mein, which hit the screens worldwide on August 15, disappointed fans in the UAE. A key sequence involving Fardeen Khan’s character development has been cut by the UAE media regulatory office because it violates local restrictions.
Pardeen returned to the big screen after 14 years with this drama. Not only the fans but also the director Mudassar Aziz is upset with these cracks.
Speaking to Mid-Day, Mudassar Aziz said that as a filmmaker, it is his professional and moral duty to create diverse characters and explore significant themes. He noted that Khel Khel Mein fulfills this mission. Although he was saddened by the removal of such relevant content from the UAE version, which was presented in a dignified manner, he was heartened by the positive response and appreciation of the scenes from audiences across the world.
Fardeen Khan also took it in her stride and told Porta, “Through this role, I hope to contribute to a conversation that is necessary and relevant. Although the revisions have been made, the intention behind the role—the intention of acceptance—remains the same, and I stand by the importance of the message.”
Based on the Italian film Perfect Strangers, Gal Gal Main follows a gripping story about a group of friends whose lives are turned upside down by a mysterious and dangerous game. It stars Akshay Kumar, Pardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammi Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal. Gal Gal Main, which released last week on Independence Day with Rs 5 crore, has collected Rs 14.05 crore in four days.
