UAE, Iran Presidents Call PM Modi, Strongly Condemn Pahalgam Attack

NEW DELHI: In a show of solidarity with India, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian personally called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday to denounce the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
This comes as Gulf nations intensify efforts to ease tensions between India and Pakistan.

During the conversation, PM Modi and President Al Nahyan reaffirmed their commitment to reject terrorism in every form. Al Nahyan extended heartfelt condolences for the “barbaric” attack and conveyed full support to India, which Modi deeply appreciated, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Similarly, President Pezeshkian expressed strong condemnation of the attack and emphasized that humanity must unite against acts of terror. Modi shared the Indian people’s anger and determination to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice — a consistent message across India’s diplomatic engagements in recent days.

Additionally, PM Modi offered condolences to Iran for the tragic explosion in Bandar Abbas and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have also engaged in dialogue with India and Pakistan. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, affirming the need to counter terrorism with determination. India, while firmly opposing any third-party mediation, continues to brief global diplomats about Pakistan’s suspected involvement in cross-border terrorism.
