Saudi Aramco Holds April LPG Prices Steady, Sonatrach Cuts OSPs Amid Weak Demand
Saudi Aramco has kept its April official selling prices (OSPs) for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged from March levels, while Algeria’s Sonatrach has reduced its rates by 2-7% due to sluggish demand in the Mediterranean, traders reported on Monday.
According to market sources, Aramco’s OSP for propane remains at $615 per metric ton, while butane is steady at $605 per ton. Propane and butane are two types of LPG with distinct boiling points. They are commonly used as automotive fuel, heating and as raw materials in the petrochemical industry.
Meanwhile, Sonatrach has cut its April propane OSP by $10 to $550 per tonne and butane OSP by $40 to $545 per tonne.
Saudi Aramco’s OSPs are important pricing benchmarks for LPG exports from the Middle East to Asia-Pacific markets, while Sonatrach’s benchmarks affect the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions, including Turkey.
