The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has awarded 16,456 Golden Visas to people working in the education sector in a major attempt to retain top talent and encourage academic success. The nation’s dedication to promoting a knowledge-based economy and aiding exceptional students and instructors is further demonstrated by this long-term residency program.

Breakdown of Golden Visa Recipients

The majority of recipients are high school students, with 10,710 high-achieving high school students receiving visas. Other beneficiaries include:

  • 5,246 graduates from accredited UAE universities.
  • 337 education specialists contributing to the country’s academic landscape.
  • 147 graduates from globally recognized institutions.
  • 16 elite scholars in the field of education.

Government Commitment to Education

The announcement was made by Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), in celebration of Emirati Education Day on February 28.

Al Khaili emphasized that the UAE’s educational policies are designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving world. He reaffirmed the ICP’s commitment to supporting national leadership in strengthening the education sector.

UAE Golden Visa: A Gateway to Long-Term Residency

The UAE’s Golden Visa, which was introduced in 2019, allows certain resident categories to live for five or ten years, with the option to automatically renew. This visa entitles holders to 100% business ownership on the UAE mainland as well as the ability to live, work, and study in the country without a national sponsor.
