Singapore’s Gstar to build 2-GW solar module factory in UAE

Partnership focuses on high-efficiency N-type technology to meet Middle East solar demand

UAE Partners with Gstar to Build 2-GW Solar Module Factory

Singapore-based Gstar plans to build a 2-GW solar module factory in the United Arab Emirates.

The solar equipment maker signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium led by UAE-based diversified investment firm Siraj Group.

Gstar said last week that the solar module production plan will focus on high-efficiency N-type technology.

As part of the consortium to drive the initiative, Gstar will partner with Siraj Group, Galaxico and Stark Consulting, and construction will begin in November.

Gstar’s decision to enter the UAE is based on the Gulf nation’s ambitions and the solar energy potential of the entire region. Infolink figures that the photovoltaic market in the Middle East will experience steady growth, with demand reaching 29-35 GW by 2027.

Established in 2019, Gstar specializes in PV products and servicing of PV systems. In 2022, opened a plant in Thailand with fully automated batch production lines and equipment.
