Flynas to Boost UAE Presence with New Routes from Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s budget carrier flynas has unveiled a groundbreaking expansion strategy during the esteemed Arabian Travel Market (ATM) conference. The airline’s visionary plans, set to roll out in September 2024, mark a significant leap forward in its quest to dominate the aviation landscape of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Under the astute leadership of Managing Director and CEO Bander Almohanna, flynas is poised to introduce service to three key destinations in the UAE: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Maktoum Airport (DWC). This strategic move underscores flynas’ commitment to enhancing connectivity and accessibility for travelers across the region.

Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s forward-thinking National Civil Aviation Strategy, flynas aims to tap into the growing demand for low-cost travel, leveraging its expanding network to drive economic growth and foster regional integration. This bold initiative reflects flynas’ unwavering dedication to shaping the future of air travel in the Middle East.

The National Civil Aviation Strategy, a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s transformative Vision 2030 initiative, sets ambitious targets for the aviation sector. By facilitating connectivity to 250 international destinations, accommodating 330 million passengers annually, and welcoming 100 million tourists by 2030, the strategy positions Saudi Arabia as a global aviation powerhouse.

With the impending expansion, flynas will bolster connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, offering more than 20 daily flights across nine routes. From Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah, travelers will enjoy seamless access to key UAE destinations, facilitating business and leisure travel.

Flynas’ expansion plans encompass flights to Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh, Sheikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah (JED) and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED) in Madinah, as well as to Sharjah International Airport from both Jeddah and Madinah.

With a robust network spanning over 70 domestic and international destinations and more than 1500 weekly flights, flynas has emerged as a prominent player in the region’s aviation sector since its inception in 2007. The airline’s commitment to excellence and innovation has earned it a reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction.

Looking ahead, flynas is poised for further growth, with plans to acquire 30 widebody aircraft to expand its network and enhance competition with regional rivals. Additionally, the airline is gearing up for an initial public offering (IPO) later this year, signaling its confidence in its financial strength and market position.

As flynas charts a course for the future, it remains dedicated to connecting people, cultures, and economies, driving progress and prosperity across the Middle East and beyond. With its visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence, flynas is poised to shape the future of air travel in the region and beyond.
