New Ripple Payments platform aims to boost crypto adoption, ease global transfers, and elevate UAE’s fintech standing

Ripple Expands into UAE with Cross-Border Blockchain Payments, Partnering with Zand Bank and Mamo

The official launch of Ripple’s cross-border payment services in the UAE marks a significant step towards increasing Bitcoin adoption in the region. Ripple is a major player in blockchain technology. Partnerships with Zand Bank, the UAE’s first fully digital bank, and Mamo, a leading fintech startup, are expected to help in this endeavor.

Ripple Payments, a platform that seamlessly connects stablecoins, cryptocurrencies, and regular fiat currencies, is at the heart of the launch. It aims to provide faster and cheaper cross-border transactions than current banking systems that are plagued by excessive fees, slow processing times, and lack of transparency.

The development aligns with Ripple’s core mission of modernizing the world’s financial system by providing transparent, real-time payment options. With the newly obtained regulatory license in the UAE, Ripple is now well-positioned to serve the country – one of the world’s largest transit points for cross-border payments.

The UAE is establishing itself as a global hub for digital finance and blockchain innovation. Currently ranked 56th out of 151 countries in global crypto adoption, the country stands out for its active use of decentralized finance (DeFi) and stablecoins. The government’s commitment to building a strong and resilient cryptocurrency ecosystem is demonstrated by recent regulatory developments, such as the official recognition of stablecoins such as USDt, USDC, and EURC.

In addition to increasing the efficiency of cross-border transactions, the introduction of Ripple to the UAE market is seen as a significant milestone in the country’s growing ambition to lead the region in blockchain-enabled financial services.
