Ras Al Khaimah Breaks Two Guinness World Records with New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Drone Show

Ras Al Khaimah, January 1, 2024 — Ras Al Khaimah welcomed the New Year and set two new Guinness World Records with an eight-minute-long fireworks and drone display that lit up the sky over 4.5 km of Ras Al Khaimah’s waterfront.

The emirate, which already holds several Guinness World Records for its renowned fireworks New Year’s Eve shows, has made history again with a show that broke the Guinness World Records for the ‘Longest Floating Water Fireworks’ at 5.8 km and the ‘Longest Linear Drone Display’ at 2 km.

The show featured a display of 1,050 LED drones, a ‘carpet’ of aquatic floating fireworks and acrobatic pyrotechnics inspired by Ras Al Khaimah’s natural wonders – never-before-tried techniques that used a combination of desert, sea and mountains. Everyone danced to music specially composed for the celebration.

Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, commented, “The two Guinness World Record-breaking events brought together thousands of visitors and residents to create an unforgettable night of celebration.”

“As we begin the new year, 2023 has been an exceptional year for tourism in Ras Al Khaimah, with many achievements and record annual visitor numbers, further boosting the natural emirate’s ambition to attract more than 3 million annual visitors by 2030.”
