Prince Andrew Eyes UAE Move Amid Spy Scandal: Report

Prince Andrew is reportedly planning to leave the UK and seek refuge in Abu Dhabi as early as next year, with friends suggesting he might follow in Prince Harry’s footsteps by relocating to the Middle East.

As per The Daily Beast, Abu Dhabi’s ruling elite has granted Andrew access to a palace in the city, where he is expected to move. While not owning the property, the prince retains the privilege of using a fully-staffed private palace, according to biographer Andrew Lownie, who is penning Entitled: The Controversial Lives of the Duke and Duchess of York.

Andrew’s ties to Abu Dhabi aren’t new.He continued to use a “gilded mini-palace” owned by the Nahyan ruling family in the United Arab Emirates while serving as the UK’s trade ambassador ten years ago.The affair came to light in 2010 when his spokesperson admitted to the arrangement.

Andrew’s decision to leave the UK comes amid mounting scandals, including his controversial relationship with Chinese billionaire Yang Dengpo, a suspected spy.

Mr Loni says the fallout from these relationships and allegations of questionable financial dealings have left Andrew unfairly treated.

Andrew was “in a desperate situation and willing to accept any opportunity,” according to documents connected to Yang, which provides insight into their business partnership.

To make matters worse, Andrew has been left out of the royal family’s Christmas celebrations. His lavish lifestyle has come under increasing scrutiny, particularly in light of the £1.4 million payment made to Selman Turk, a suspect in the swindling of a Turkish heir.

Prince Andrew’s proposed move to Abu Dhabi is a sign of his desire to escape the fallout and start a new life in the Middle East amid mounting economic and intelligence concerns.
