Netherlands announces full-strength squad for UAE and Scotland series
Dutch Team Aims for Top Four Finish in 2023–27 World Cup League 2 Matches Against Scotland and UAE

Netherlands Unveil Full Squad for UAE and Scotland ODIs in World Cup League 2 Cycle
The Netherlands has announced a formidable 15-man roster for their forthcoming 2023–27 Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 matches against Scotland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). To qualify for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, the Dutch team will play four One Day Internationals (ODIs) in the first half of May, including crucial matches against Scotland and the United Arab Emirates.
The team, led by captain Scott Edwards, is a blend of seasoned veterans and young potential, with key players like Paul van Meekeren, Bas de Leede, Max O’Dowd, and veteran all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe seeking to improve the Netherlands’ positions in League 2.
Two locations—VRA in Amstelveen and Kampong in Utrecht—will host the series. The Netherlands needs to win these games if they want to finish in the top four of the League 2 cycle. Along with six other countries from the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings and the Qualifier Play-off, the top four teams will advance to the 2027 World Cup Qualifiers.
In their previous series, the Netherlands faced Canada and Namibia in a tri-series held in Namibia, where they won two matches and had two matches abandoned due to rain.
