IMI and UAE Media Council Unite to Elevate Emirati Media Talent
Dubai: IMI, formerly known as International Media Investments, has partnered up with the UAE Media Council to hire and train Emirati talent in order to improve the local media environment. This strategic alliance aims to develop the nation’s media infrastructure and expand its workforce through improved education and industry experience.
The initiative supports the Media Training initiative, which was introduced in May 2023 and aims to equip Emirati professionals, recent graduates, and final-year students pursuing media-related courses with the skills necessary to thrive in a sector that is evolving quickly. By producing a new generation of media professionals, the program ensures sustained industry growth and global competitiveness.
The agreement was signed at IMI’s new Abu Dhabi headquarters by Mohammed Saeed Al-Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, and Rani Raad, CEO of IMI Group.As the owner of prominent media channels including CNN Business Arabic, Sky News Arabia, The National, and Al-Ain News, IMI seeks to expose prospective Emirati talent to international media standards and provide them personal experience.

Since its establishment in September 2023, IMI Media Academy has led the way in media education with innovative teaching methods and a cutting-edge curriculum that covers journalism, content creation, and digital media technology.

Al-Shehhi emphasized that stronger collaborations with private media organizations are crucial for the sector’s development. He reiterated the UAE Media Council’s commitment to fostering domestic talent, giving them access to state-of-the-art equipment, and positioning the UAE as a global media leader.
Through this initiative, the UAE Media Council and IMI Group seek to improve industry standards, develop the next generation of media professionals, and bring the country’s media sector to a level of prominence on a global scale.
