UAE Imposes New Travel Rules for Indore-Dubai-Sharjah Flights
UAE directive prompts Indore Airport to enforce confirmed return ticket condition for travelers

New Travel Requirement: Indore(Madhya Pradesh) Airport Implements Return Ticket Rule for Dubai-Sharjah Passengers
Indore Airport in Madhya Pradesh has recently implemented a new requirement for travelers bound for Dubai-Sharjah, following a directive from the UAE government. This directive mandates that individuals departing from Indore Airport must possess a confirmed return ticket, a condition specifically applicable to tourists holding tourist visas. This new prerequisite holds particular significance as Indore Airport serves as the exclusive departure point for flights to Dubai-Sharjah. Flights to this destination are operational solely on Thursdays, facilitating a quick turnaround with departures and returns occurring on the same night.
The decision by the UAE government to enforce stricter regulations arises from concerns regarding individuals residing illegally in Sharjah and Dubai. With tourist visas available at a relatively low cost of approximately 5k to 6k rupees, there have been reports of Indian travelers exploiting these visas to engage in unauthorized work activities in the UAE. Consequently, the imposition of this requirement serves as a deterrent to such activities, aiming to ensure that travelers abide by the intended purpose of their visit.
In response to these developments, officials from the Madhya Pradesh Travel Agents Association have offered their insights. They suggest that these new guidelines are unlikely to significantly impact regular tourists who typically comply with the stipulated conditions. However, they serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to visa regulations and traveling responsibly.
Outlined within the UAE government’s guidelines are several key points that travelers must adhere to:
- Passport Validity: Passports must possess a validity of at least six months from the date of departure, ensuring compliance with international travel regulations and facilitating smooth entry into the UAE.
- Confirmed Return Ticket: It is mandatory for travelers to present a confirmed return ticket upon departure from the airport. This requirement underscores their commitment to adhering to visa regulations and returning within the specified timeframe.
- Hotel Booking Confirmation: Travelers must furnish booking confirmation from a hotel for their stay in the UAE. This stipulation emphasizes the importance of pre-planning accommodation arrangements and ensures that travelers have a place to stay during their visit.
- Financial Requirements: Additionally, travelers are required to demonstrate possession of sufficient funds or a credit card to cover expenses during their stay in the UAE. This requirement highlights the importance of financial preparedness and ensures that travelers can support themselves financially during their trip.
These comprehensive guidelines serve to streamline the travel process and ensure compliance with UAE visa regulations, ultimately contributing to enhanced security and efficiency in air travel between Indore and Dubai-Sharjah.
