The Kerala-born medical professional, currently based in Bahrain, struck it rich by winning the latest draw of the renowned Big Ticket raffle in the United Arab Emirates

Mohanan won 30 million UAE dirhams, or about Rs. 70,56,65,400.

Mohanan bought two tickets in the Big Ticket raffle on December 26, 2024. He got one free ticket as per the buy two get one free promotion. A live TV presenter called Mohanan during the draw to inform him that he had won 30 million dirhams on ticket number 535948.

Shocked, Mohanan had to ask the host three times if he was telling the truth.

Manu Mohanan said that he and his friends have been testing their luck for the past five years, Khaleej Times reported. “For the past five years, we have been buying tickets,” he said.

She has been working as a nurse in Bahrain for the past seven years.

Last month, an Indian expatriate named Arvind Appukuttan won Rs. 59 crore in a lottery. On this occasion, he helped select the winning ticket.

He promised to give a part of the winning money to 19 of his friends. “This amount will be used to repay the debts that many of us have. With this kind of money, many of my friends can get married,” he noted.

Another lucky person who got the dream car is Pakistani expatriate Shakirullah Khan. It has been more than three decades since the Big Like Lottery became a well-known lottery in the UAE.
