Jaishankar and UAE Deputy PM Review Strategic Ties, Highlight Educational and Trade Partnerships
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reviewed the full gamut of the comprehensive strategic partnership, a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.
“The EAM expressed satisfaction over the continuous exchange of high-level visits and the rapid development of the relationship. They also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest,” the statement said.
The UAE is India’s third largest trading partner, second largest export destination and ranks among the top ten investors in India. The two countries entered into a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2022, aiming to reach $100 billion in non-oil trade by 2030.
DP World Chairman and CEO Sultan Bin Sulayem briefed the Minister on the project and future partnerships.
EAM’s official visit to the UAE on Thursday was his tenth visit to the West Asian country since 2019.
Jaishankar and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan jointly inaugurated the Symbiosis International University, Dubai campus. “EAM appreciated the expanding educational partnership between India and the UAE,” the release said.
