India-UAE Ties Reach New Heights: Jaishankar
Dubai, Nov 14 (PTI) Relations between India and the United Arab Emirates have reached a new high, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Thursday, highlighting cooperation in sectors such as fintech, renewable energy, infrastructure and defence.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) campus here, Jaishankar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to the UAE in 2015 was the first by an Indian Prime Minister to the emirate in over a century. A new beginning of bilateral relations between the two countries.
“India-UAE relations are truly in an era of new milestones today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit in 2015, a first in this century, and our comprehensive economic partnership to negotiate in record time,” Jaishankar said.
Jaishankar said the launch of the Symbiosis Campus in Dubai is part of a wider trend reflecting the growing educational and cultural exchanges between India and the UAE.
“India must prepare for the global workplace today. Likewise, it must be ready for the era of chips, electric mobility, clean and green technologies, renewable energy, space and roads.
Development of these potentials must be managed by making them environmentally friendly and marketable. In doing so, it must continue to communicate to us the benefits of the contemporary education framework, as education can restore all these tasks,” the minister said.
Exposure to quality education will give us a special ability to deal with the world and advance national opportunities, the minister said, expressing confidence that Symbiosis will reflect its best quality of teaching to prepare students for 21st century skills.
