Israeli Defense Firms Showcase Advanced Weaponry at UAE Defense Fair Amid Ceasefire


The International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, are featuring state-of-the-art weapons and defense equipment from Israeli firms.. The continuous confrontation between Israel and Hamas, which has lasted for 15 months, is currently experiencing a precarious ceasefire.

Leading Israeli defense firms, such as Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), have made a significant impression at the expo by joining industry leaders from around the world. Boaz Levy, CEO of IAI, expressed his excitement at appearing on the show and underlined the company’s commitment to provide its international partners state-of-the-art military technologies.

Israeli armaments makers have continued to broaden their global reach despite being prohibited from participating in some European defense fairs because of the conflict in Gaza.

The UAE, which normalized diplomatic ties with Israel under the 2020 Abraham Accords, has fostered growing cooperation with Israeli defense firms. Since the deal, EMTAN, a well-known Israeli producer of small guns, has taken part in all of Abu Dhabi’s defense shows. While highlighting the strategic alliances established under the accords, Ron Pollak, the sales manager for EMTAN, commended the UAE’s hospitality and solid commercial relationships.

Israel is a major player in the global arms business, and this year’s defense fair highlights its expanding military and technological partnerships in the Gulf.
