India-UAE Ties Strengthened as All-Party Delegation Champions Peace, Security, and Anti-Terrorism Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, May 23:
A high-level all-party delegation from India, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, is currently on an important diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reinforcing the enduring values of harmony, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence that are deeply cherished by both nations.

On Friday, the delegation traveled to Abu Dhabi to see important religious and cultural sites, such as the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, the BAPS Hindu Temple, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. These symbolic visits reflected the shared values of India and the UAE in fostering cultural tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and they emphasized India’s message of interfaith harmony and respect.

Earlier in the day, the delegation held a crucial meeting with Nikolay Mladenov, Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy. Discussions focused on enhancing India-UAE cooperation in the global fight against terrorism and radicalisation, aligning with India’s international outreach under “Operation Sindoor.” The Indian Embassy in the UAE shared on social media platform X:
“The All-party delegation led by Shrikant Eknath Shinde met Nikolay Mladenov, Director General of Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy. They exchanged views on furthering cooperation between India-UAE in counter-terrorism and combating radicalism.”

The delegation also engaged with members of the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi, reiterating the nation’s united front against terrorism and its determination to safeguard social harmony. The importance of the media in combating terrorism and stifling extremist ideology was emphasized in a separate meeting with Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director General of the UAE National Media Office.

Several prominent Emirati figures expressed their steadfast support for India, and the UAE reaffirmed its solidarity with the country during their visit. UAE Minister of Tolerance and Co-Existence, Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, and Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, conveyed heartfelt condolences for the victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Sheikh Nahyan assured the delegation that, “India and UAE will tackle terrorism together. The UAE will always stand by India.”

In their meeting with Al Nuaimi, the Indian delegates elaborated on the calculated and restrained nature of Operation Sindoor, India’s targeted response to the cross-border attack on tourists in Kashmir. In response, Nuaimi emphasized, “India-UAE ties go beyond trade and cultural exchange — they include deep-rooted security and strategic cooperation. Terrorism is an affront to humanity, and the global community must act decisively.”

The Indian delegation comprises a diverse political representation, including BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra; BJD MP Sasmit Patra; IUML MP E.T. Mohammed Basheer; senior BJP leader S.S. Ahluwalia; and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.

This visit marks a significant step in India’s broader diplomatic initiative to expose and confront Pakistan’s ongoing involvement in cross-border terrorism, as highlighted by the recent Pahalgam tragedy. The UAE’s strong and vocal support further strengthens the bilateral relationship, now encompassing shared strategic goals in the fight against extremism and the promotion of global peace.
