Eid Al Adha 2025: UAE, Saudi, Qatar, and Kuwait Reveal Expected Holiday Dates
As everyone waits for the Islamic festival dates to be finalized, Gulf countries have begun declaring their anticipated Eid Al Adha holidays. The moon sighting closer to the beginning of Dhu Al Hijjah will be necessary for official confirmation, even though the dates are currently based on astrological predictions.
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
In the UAE, Eid Al Adha is expected to be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2025, as per projections from the Emirates Astronomical Society. May 28 is likely to be the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah, placing Arafat Day on June 5. Final confirmation will be made by the moon sighting committee.
Qatar
Qatar will observe a five-day Eid Al Adha break, starting from the 9th day of Dhu Al Hijjah, with holidays lasting until the 13th. The crescent moon will be searched for on May 27; if spotted, the Islamic month will begin on May 28, otherwise on May 29. These dates set Eid celebrations around June 6.
Kuwait
Kuwait’s Al Ojairi Scientific Centre also places Eid Al Adha on June 6, based on astronomical calculations. The moon marking Dhu Al Hijjah’s start is expected to be visible for 43 minutes after sunset on May 28. Public holidays are anticipated from June 5 to 9.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is aligning with regional predictions, tentatively marking Eid Al Adha on June 6 and Arafat Day on June 5. Final dates await the official crescent moon sighting.
