Sharjah Municipality Announces Comprehensive Measures for Eid Al Adha 2024

Revised Park Hours to Accommodate Festivities

In preparation for Eid Al Adha, Sharjah National Park and Rolla Park will extend their operating hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Additionally, all other public parks in Sharjah will open from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These adjusted timings are designed to provide ample opportunities for families and individuals to enjoy outdoor spaces and recreational activities during the festive period.

Promoting Public Health: Use of Official Slaughterhouses

Sharjah Municipality emphasizes the importance of using official abattoirs for animal sacrifices during Eid Al Adha. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the health and safety of residents by preventing potential risks associated with unregulated practices. Residents are urged to avoid engaging door-to-door butchers, whose methods may not adhere to sanitary standards, and instead opt for the facilities provided by authorized slaughterhouses.

Regulation of Late-Night Business Operations

To accommodate the increased demand during Eid Al Adha, commercial establishments wishing to extend their operating hours beyond midnight on the first, second, and third days of Eid must obtain special permits. These permits can be obtained through the Control and Inspection Service on Sharjah Municipality’s official website. This regulatory requirement ensures that businesses operate in compliance with local laws and maintain standards of public safety and order.

Facilitating Ease of Access: Free Parking

In a gesture to enhance convenience for residents and visitors, Sharjah Municipality has announced free parking from June 16 to June 18, covering the initial three days of Eid Al Adha. However, it’s important to note that this exemption does not apply to designated seven-day paid parking zones marked by blue information boards. Regular parking fees will continue to be enforced in these areas, including on Fridays and public holidays.

Community Engagement in Cleanliness and Compliance

Sharjah Municipality underscores the importance of community participation in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to regulations during Eid Al Adha. Residents are encouraged to promptly report any violations related to hygiene, public safety, or environmental concerns. This collaborative effort plays a crucial role in preserving the city’s aesthetic appeal and ensuring a pleasant environment for all.

Sharjah Municipality’s proactive measures for Eid Al Adha 2024 aim to foster a harmonious and well-organized celebration within the community. By implementing revised park hours, regulating slaughter practices, facilitating business permits, and providing free parking, the municipality prioritizes public welfare and contributes to a positive festive atmosphere. Residents and visitors are urged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines to contribute to a successful and memorable Eid Al Adha in Sharjah.
