Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently introduced a comprehensive revision to taxi fares, encompassing adjusted flag fall rates for both regular metered taxis and the Hala Taxi service, particularly at designated locations and specific times. A significant highlight of these changes is the implementation of a Dh20 flag fall rate at pivotal event locations such as the World Trade Centre, Expo City, and Global Village, specifically during major events.
The ‘flag fall’ rate stands as the initial cost incurred when the taxi meter commences, signifying the baseline fare for any taxi journey. The overall cost of a ride comprises the flag fall rate, Salik toll charges (Dh4 per crossing), and additional charges applicable in certain situations, all meticulously outlined by the RTA.
Flag Fall Rate:
- Dh5: Applicable when hailing a regular or family taxi from the road between 6 am to 10 pm.
- Dh5.50: Applicable when hailing a regular or family taxi from the road between 10 pm to 6 am.
- Dh8: Relevant when hailing a taxi designated for People of Determination between 6 am to 10 pm.
- Dh9: Relevant when hailing a taxi designated for People of Determination between 10 pm to 6 am.
- Dh12: Reservation rate for regular, family, or female taxis online through Careem or RTA during rush hour.
Special Rates:
- Dh20: Applicable when hailing a regular taxi from Dubai Airports or Port Rashid.
- Dh20: Applicable when hailing a taxi during major events at exhibitions and international conventions (World Trade Centre, Expo City, and the Global Village).
- Dh25: Applicable when hailing a family taxi or a taxi designated for People of Determination from Dubai Airports or Port Rashid.
