Security Breach in Indian Lok Sabha as Intruders Emerge with Canisters Emitting Yellow Smoke

In a shocking security breach in the Indian Lok Sabha, two individuals jumped into the House from the visitor’s gallery, wielding canisters emitting yellow smoke, as reported by Congress MP Karti Chidambaram. The incident occurred during a session when members were addressing matters of urgent public importance, leading to a temporary adjournment of the House.

Visuals captured the moment an unidentified man leaped from the visitor’s gallery, causing a brief commotion. The House was adjourned until 2 pm in response to the breach.

Chidambaram explained, “Suddenly two young men around 20 years old jumped into the House from the visitor’s gallery and had canisters in their hand. These canisters were emitting yellow smoke. One of them was attempting to run towards the Speaker’s chair. They were shouting some slogans. The smoke could have been poisonous. This is a serious breach of security, especially on 13th December, the day when Parliament was attacked in 2001.”

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav expressed concerns about a “complete security lapse,” emphasizing the need for attention to visitor identification and security measures. Meanwhile, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury confirmed that the intruders were apprehended and brought out by security personnel after MPs intervened.

The incident raises questions about the security protocols in place within the Lok Sabha and underscores the importance of maintaining a robust system to prevent such breaches in the future.
