Dubai resident died within days of his twin brother

The brothers, deeply bonded, left the surviving twin utterly devastated," states a social worker

In a poignant tale of profound connection, an Indian expatriate in Dubai succumbed to a heart attack earlier this week, just three days after his older twin brother passed away in India due to natural causes. The brothers, in their early 40s, shared an unbreakable bond that endured from their school days. Having attended the same school and college, they maintained their closeness even after one moved to the UAE for work, while the other remained in India.

The surviving twin, deeply affected by the loss of his brother, expressed his grief to roommates on the day of his death, stating that he wished God had taken him instead. Within half an hour of uttering those words, he passed away. The social worker, Ashraf Thamarassery, shared the poignant narrative of the brothers’ inseparable journey, highlighting how the surviving twin struggled to cope after the demise of his older brother.

Both brothers had married twin sisters, further intertwining their lives. Despite the geographical distance, the older twin in India continued to care for the younger one’s family, emphasizing the enduring strength of their relationship. The younger twin’s roommates attested to his profound grief, noting that he was in constant tears, struggling to eat and sleep after his brother’s death.

After the younger brother’s demise in Dubai, his remains were flown to Thiruvananthapuram, their hometown in Kerala, India. The final rites were conducted, and he was laid to rest next to his older twin brother, fulfilling his heartfelt wish to be together even in death.

The narrative encapsulates a remarkable journey of shared experiences, parallel lives, and the extraordinary connection between two brothers, reinforcing the sentiment that they remained inseparable, not only in life but also in death.
