Dubai Records Arrival of 1.77 Million International Tourists in January 2024

Dubai welcomed 1.77 million international tourists in January 2024, marking a significant increase of 21% compared to the same period in 2023, when the city hosted 1.47 million visitors. This surge in tourism reflects Dubai’s enduring appeal as a global travel destination.

According to the Dubai Tourism Performance Report for January, released by the Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Western Europe emerged as the leading source market for international tourists, contributing over 18% of the total visitors with 327,000 arrivals. Following closely behind were the GCC countries, accounting for nearly 18% of visitors with 311,000 arrivals, while South Asia ranked third with 294,000 visitors, representing approximately 17% of the total.

The report further revealed that visitors from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Eastern Europe constituted 15% of the total arrivals, numbering 262,000 and securing the fourth position. Meanwhile, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region contributed 12% of the total visitors, with 211,000 arrivals, securing the fifth spot.

North and Southeast Asia occupied the sixth position, with 149,000 visitors and an 8% share of the total arrivals. The Americas followed closely behind, ranking seventh with 115,000 visitors, representing about 6% of the total international visitors. Africa secured the eighth position with 71,000 visitors, accounting for 4% of the total, while Australia concluded the list with 33,000 visitors, comprising 2% of the total international arrivals.

These statistics underscore Dubai’s diverse appeal as a destination, attracting visitors from various regions across the globe and reinforcing its status as a preferred travel hub. The city’s vibrant cultural scene, world-class attractions, and renowned hospitality continue to entice travelers, contributing to its sustained growth in tourism.
