Dubai: Police Honor Indian Boy for Returning Lost Watch

Muhammad Ayan Younis Receives Praise and Award for His Integrity

Dubai Police Honor Indian Boy for Exemplary Honesty in Returning Lost Watch

A young boy’s commendable and intelligent action has garnered widespread praise and recognition from the Dubai Police. Muhammad Ayan Younis, an Indian boy residing in Dubai, was with his father at a tourist spot when he came across a lost watch. Rather than ignoring it or keeping it for himself, Muhammad Ayan Younis decided to take the watch to the Dubai Police, ensuring it could be returned to its rightful owner. The Dubai Police managed to trace the tourist who had earlier reported the watch as lost. After verifying the ownership, the watch was duly returned to its owner.

According to a press release on the Dubai Police website, the tourist “expressed his immense satisfaction with the high level of security and integrity in Dubai.” On Sunday, Muhammad Ayan Younis was honored with an award in recognition of his admirable action. This award was given following the directives of Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, the Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Numerous officials from the Dubai Tourism Department, including Brigadier Khalfan Obeid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, along with his deputy, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abdul Rahman, and Captain Shahab Al Saadi, Head of the Tourist Happiness Section, attended the felicitation ceremony of Muhammad Ayan Younis. Brigadier Al Jallaf remarked that the “child’s behavior reflects the high moral standards and security prevalent in the UAE,” particularly highlighting their thriving tourism sector.

This is not an isolated incident of common individuals being recognized by Dubai authorities for their exemplary civic sense. In April, Zeeshan Ahmad Irshad Ahmad, a delivery man for the food delivery service Talabat, was seen fixing a traffic signal that was precariously dangling by the side. His thoughtful actions were captured by someone in a car behind him. When this video circulated online, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took note of it. Subsequently, Zeeshan was invited to the RTA headquarters and awarded a certificate of appreciation.

The act of young Muhammad Ayan Younis in Dubai stands as a testament to the high values and integrity encouraged within the community. His decision to hand over the lost watch to the authorities not only underscores his honesty but also highlights the seamless cooperation between residents and the Dubai Police. The commendation he received serves as a powerful message that integrity and civic responsibility are recognized and celebrated, fostering a sense of community and trust in the city.

The recognition of such actions by ordinary individuals, like Muhammad and Zeeshan, by the authorities, reinforces the importance of good citizenship and the positive impact it has on society. These stories of everyday heroes serve as an inspiration, reminding everyone of the significant role that individual actions play in maintaining the high standards of security, morality, and civic duty in Dubai.
