Dubai Metro Service Restored Between Centerpoint and GGICO Stations
Alternative Bus and Train Transport Offered at Affected Stations

RTA Restores Dubai Metro Service After Temporary Disruption
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai swiftly responded to a temporary disruption in the Dubai Metro’s Red Line service, specifically between the Centerpoint and GGICO stations. The disruption, attributed to a technical issue, prompted the RTA to announce on Sunday morning that normal services had resumed in both directions on the Red Line. However, it was clarified that trains would not be making stops at Energy, Equiti, Mashreq, and ONPASSIVE stations during this period.
To mitigate the inconvenience caused to commuters, the RTA promptly deployed alternative bus services to serve affected passengers. In a statement shared on X, the RTA assured commuters that alternative bus services, along with a train shuttle on platform 1, had been arranged at the affected stations. This proactive measure aimed to ensure that passengers could continue their journeys with minimal disruption despite the temporary interruption in metro services.
Passengers were advised to stay informed about further updates from the RTA regarding the resolution of the technical issue and the subsequent restoration of normal metro services along the affected stretch. This transparent communication strategy helped to keep commuters informed and reassured about the progress of the situation.
In the wake of heavy rains that battered the emirate in mid-April, four metro stations—Onpassive, Equiti, Mashreq, and Energy—had remained closed for maintenance and safety checks. However, the RTA recently announced that these stations would resume normal operations by May 28 after the completion of all necessary maintenance and safety tests. This proactive approach underscores the RTA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of Dubai’s public transportation infrastructure.
In the interim, to cater to passenger demand between Business Bay and other key destinations, the RTA has continued to deploy a fleet of 150 buses. These buses provide essential connectivity between Business Bay and stations such as OnPassive, Mall of the Emirates, Mashreq, Equity, Dubai Internet City, and Al Khail Metro stations. This ongoing bus service initiative demonstrates the RTA’s dedication to maintaining seamless connectivity and facilitating smooth journeys for commuters across Dubai’s extensive public transportation network.
