Dubai Launches ‘1 Billion Readiness’ Initiative for Global Fire Safety Awareness

The ‘1 Billion Readiness’ initiative, the biggest global safety and fire risk prevention initiative, was started by the Dubai Civil Defence Agency.

The effort aims to train and educate one billion people worldwide.

This innovative initiative, spearheaded by the UAE, unites 18 significant firefighting organizations and 34 nations, reaffirming the UAE’s leadership in international safety and security initiatives.

One of the main initiatives is the Hope Convoy project, which will set up fire stations and supply essential firefighting equipment in underdeveloped countries, thereby improving disaster response and preparedness.

Additionally, the project seeks to improve global safety collaboration.

Director-General of Dubai Civil Defense Lt. Gen. Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi emphasized that the program will raise awareness of safety and fire prevention through international campaigns backed by multilingual, specialist digital platforms.

The Dubai Civil Defense Preparedness Program and the Global Wildfire Monitoring Center will issue electronic certificates to program participants upon completion.

In order to reach a large audience, the effort will conduct broad awareness initiatives locally that target individuals, government organizations, the commercial sector, and educational institutions.
