Doha-Mogadishu Relations Flourish as Somalia’s Prime Minister Embarks on Qatar Visit
Hamza Abdi Barre, the prime minister of Somalia, arrived in Qatar on Monday for a five-day visit. During his stay, he will meet with key authorities in an effort to strengthen connections between Doha and Mogadishu in a variety of areas.
The Somali envoy is scheduled to meet with a team of Qatar businesspeople as well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and minister of foreign affairs.According to reports released before to Barre’s visit, Somalia and Qatar would also sign a number of investment deals in Mogadishu.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamad of Somalia visited Doha in May for business and had a meeting with Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar. The focus of conversation at the time was Somalia’s local political happenings.
