CM Stalin Praises Safe Landing of Air India Express Flight After Emergency
Trichy, Oct 12: An Air India Express Boeing 737NG flight from Trichy to Sharjah with 140 passengers returned safely after circling the airport for about 3 hours.
The DGCA is investigating the incident, a senior official said.
Flight IX 613 took off from Trichy at 5.40 pm. Friday and began circling the airport minutes later as the pilots attempted to burn off fuel before returning to the airport. Finally landed safely around 8.30 pm.
In this regard, Chief Minister Stalin said on his Twitter page, “I am happy to hear the news that the Air India Express flight has landed safely. When I got information about the landing gear problem, I immediately held an emergency telephone consultation with the authorities and advised them. Activate all necessary safety measures including fire engines, ambulances and medical assistance.
And I have now directed the District Collector to ensure the safety of all passengers and provide further assistance. My compliments to the captain and crew for a safe landing.
