CAG of India and UAE Accountability Authority Sign MoU in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 3: During a bilateral meeting with the President, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (Supreme Audit Institution, India) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Arab Emirates Accountability Commission (Supreme Audit Institution, UAE). of the United Arab Emirates Accountability Commission on Monday evening in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The purpose of this MoU is to promote and enhance cooperation between the two SAs to strengthen the professional capacity of their respective institutions and improve methods in the field of public sector auditing.
Other areas of cooperation outlined in this MoU include public audit and exchange of knowledge and experiences in conducting capacity building programs at SAI India or SAI UAE.
Girish Chandra Murmu, CAG of India, said, “This MoU reaffirms the values and goals that our institutions have long shared, and further cements the existing ties between our two countries.”
CAG Murmu noted, “This MoU will provide many opportunities for greater exchange of knowledge and experience among the members of our SAs and foster a spirit of cooperation and friendship between our SAs.”
Humaid Obaid Khalifa Obaid Abushibs, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority, emphasized the importance of the agreement in enhancing and improving the external audit procedures of both SAs and helping to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two SAs through mutual cooperation.
